Villains

What a great hidden gem! And it has Bill Skarsgard?? I have been meaning to watch this movie for months now and I'm glad I finally watched it last night! This was such a quirky movie and all of the characters played off each other really well. They way the movie was made to show that these couples are really not so far off was done in a smart way. From the beginning, we saw that the young couple struggled, but were in love and matched each other's freaks. Then when you get to the older couple, they seem very reserved at first, but they just as cray and cray in love! Honestly, who doesn't want that? My goal in life is to find someone who would literally kidnap a child for me just for me to banish it to the basement since it isn't biologically mine. Is that too much to ask?? I really like that the movie brought in the doll element as well. Something about a woman (especially an older one) grasping a lifeless doll like it was her own flesh and blood just gives a window as to how insane shit really is. It is interesting that Gloria has no problem with the doll not being real (not biologically hers obviously), but she cannot be motherly to the actual child they have locked up in the basement. I sort of get it? I mean the doll was a gift given to her as a child as well and it was from her mother so maybe that sort of compensates for having no DNA?? This has to be one of the best endings though...even though Bill Skarsgard died. The little girl and Jules get to have a seashell shop in Florida and eat ice cream all the time?? That made me happy. The ending credits art was sickkkkk.
