Terrifier 2

Not sure why I decided to rewatch and review the sequel rather than the original first other than the fact that I like the second one more...although it's a longggggg movie. My mind registered 140 minutes as an hour and 40 minutes when I turned it on the other night. First thing I have to say about this movie (and I guess the other ones in the series) is that is like a splatterpunk novel on the screen. It is so grotesque is becomes borderline comical because it is so extremely, it is unrelatable. Again, I mentioned this is the Misery review, but that scene (you know the one) will forever haunt me wayyyyy more than any of these scenes. It could also be that this whole movie is gore based so any injury just becomes muddled. This is def a movie for people who love the special effects of gore and the campiness of an 80s flick. I think it's the equivalent of if Nightmare on Elm came out in the modern day rather than with the limited capabilities of its time. They realllllly did go all out. That scene with Brooke omg like why. I am not quite sure why they decided to make this movie as long as it was other than to showcase the graphic element of the movie because the story plot did not really need to stretch that long. Maybe I just don't like long movies haha I just found it a bit overstretched. I think this movie is great for those who know what they are getting into. I def wouldn't just throw this movie on willy nilly if you have company over though. But hey, you do you!

Rotton Tomatoes rating: 4 out of 5 stars (this seems fitting!)

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars (not a .1 point higher or lower)
