Wow...totally cheesy movie, but sort of what I needed at the moment. I watched this movie (well rewatched) last night and it was the first time watching a horror movie without my sweet doggy by my side. I'm surprised how much the emotional weight hit me last night while I was watching. You will always be in my heart, sweet boy. Anyways, the movie is your basic horror movie using social media as a demonic channel. This movie is enjoyable, but no masterpiece in my eyes at all. It's one of those fun ride type of movies. One of those movies that you can kind of zone out and not miss anything once you return back from your dissociative trip. The movie had some creative elements, but honestly, it was all pretty basic. I feel like I am ripping this movie apart, but I am really not trying to. Like I mentioned it was a rewatch even so it's good enough to watch again! It's just not one of those movies that if someone just subscribed to Shudder I would be like "you HAVE to check this movie out". I have plenty of those, but unfortunately this one did not make the cut. You can't win them all! Some movies are just going to be ok and that is the point of review them and rating them. I will say though...I thought it was a bittttt dramatic for the guy to freak out about his gf dating the hot priest before they even were dating. Like yeah, that's probably good news to share, but to have a whole ass Satan trying to make you confess that as your ultimate sin sort of situation?? Not applicable in my opinion.
