Speak No Evil (2022)
America reallllly likes to remake movies hella quick, huh? It was almost comical that they made the remake so soon. I remember watching the trailer in the theater and being like wait what....I plan to watch the remake tomorrow actually haha. I think the main actor does a solid job at acting insane and probably plays Patrick's part pretty well. This is probably one of the best horror movies I have seen. This was a rewatch for me and I remember just having my mouth open during so many parts of the movie (not sexually). Like it is just so psychologically twisted and the enddddd. One of the most haunting endings to a movie in my opinion. A good ole' fashion stoning (and not in the fun way) is just so primal. I was thinking about that scene for a long time afterwards. Then to have that happen to you after your only child was abducted from you and had her tongue cut out with scissors???? Dude. That's just so much. Bjorn so it coming though. That scene where he is just in front of the car crying because he knows what is about to happen is just so sad. He hadn't told Louise about what happened to Abel so he knew shit was going down when Patrick was at their car without telling him where they were. This is just a chilling tale of people who do these atrocious things for the sheer means of knowing they can do it. They didn't sell the children off (not that that would have been better, but it would at least explain more of a purpose as to why they are abducting children). It's like they just wanted to play family and this was their hobby. The guy said he doesn't believe in work and has never worked a day in his life so I guess he has a lot of free time!
Shudder rating: 4 out of 5 skulls (I AM SHOOK IT DIDN'T GET THE FULL 5 STARS)
My rating: 5 out of 5 skulls!!!
