Mommy's with the maggots....hahahaha. This is going to piss a lot of people off, but I think this one is my favorite Evil Dead. I said it. What?? They did a super good job with the movie, and it was super entertaining! It was interesting that the possessions did not happen in a cabin in the woods. Which makes it even more controversial to like this sequel as much as I did. I don't know! I think the acting was super good and creepy. It was def more fast paced than the other ones which probably added to the enjoyment factor on my end. Don't get me wrong, I love a slow-burn horror movie, but I watch a lot of horror movies, and it was refreshing for the plot to start at 100. Sure, there are some cheesy parts like one of the kids happpppens to love DJ'ing and they find a vinyl underground to name one. Oh, and very coincidental timing of one struggling sister trying to get her life together finally meeting up with the sister who has been trying to hold it together herself while her own life is falling apart. BUT WHERE WERE YOUUUU was the vibe I was getting. It was valid thoughhhh I would be upset too. Like hello? I am going through a huge life event, and you just aren't there. I think the main actor really sold the movie though. She did such a good job turning hipster mom to ape-shit crazy demon mom. We love that for her and her family. The final girl trope continues though and with TWO female survivors! Evil Dead Rise seeeeeequal?
