Mr. Crocket

I already knew I was going to like this movie because I loved the video game Amanda the Adventurer. This movie def delivered some of those vibes and maybe they took some inspiration from that? I think there is a trend of making things that were familiar and happy in our childhood somehow terrifying. I think it tugs on some internal tie we have at something that was once safe to us and makes it something unfamiliar. Ok, but I understand where Mr. Crocket is coming from...maybe I'm just a bit fucked up. Not that he should be steeling children and putting them in some weird energetic trance, buttttt I mean these kids were going through some shit. It's like he was saving them, but then was sort of using their love for his own gain and wasn't really providing them a life? I guess it just takes Mr. Crocket abducting your child for you to realize what you had. Damn, I feel sort of bad for the dude in a way. Made a deal with the devil and everything to get his own little world. I think they did a really good job at making Mr. Crocket unhinged and incredibly creepy. I love actors that can just switch up character from being the happy, joyful, safe character to absolutely demonic and hateful. He delivered that for sure! This movie was a good little find on Hulu and I def had fun watching it.

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 3 out of 5 stars
