Scream

A classssic. Ugh gotta love Drew Barrymore's role where she continues to answer the phone. Like she doesn't even seem alarmed after the first 4 times he calls lolllll. She says "helloooo" and then continues to have a conversation with him. I guess she is supposed to be a teenager and we alllll know what we were doing as teens on the internet with strangers so I should STFU. This movie was def made to be a fun movie rather than scary. Sure, Ghostface is sexy...I mean...menacing looking, he (like many other horror icons of his time) is just such a bad murderer. Well, I guess Ghostface is multiple people, but still! They both fit the stereotype of horrible killers. So clumsyyyy, idk. It might be tie between them and Micheal Myers for the clumsiest villains. What a twist though! I remember the first time watching Scream and thinking Billy's motive in the end for tryingggg to kill Syd was because she wasn't putting out, but it tied into both of their mommy and daddy issues! I mean...sort of weird move to try to kill the daughter who had absolutely nothing to do with her mother's actions and is actively still grieving her passing, but dude has a chip on his shoulder and agenda! Ok, I'll have to admit, I have not seen the million Scream sequels so that will keep me busy for the foreseeable future. I honestly do not even know what characters carry over in the movies or what the plots are so I'm kind of excited to get to dive in. I think this movie is a good mix of stupid, fun and slashy. Ghostface is just an iconic horror figure and I'm sure he evolves into a much less goofy version. Let's find out!

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 4 out of 5 stars

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars...I'm sorry everyone.
