Ginger Snaps
Wow, there is really so little to dislike about this movie. I think the casting, plot, uniqueness, special effects...etc. were pretty spot on. Maybe it's because I was sort of (ok a total) outcast in high school so I related to the main characters, but that's just anotherrrr reason to like it not the sole reason. This film has sort of edgy female characters like in The Craft and man, these, two actors work awesome together. I also freaking love the mom. She was like let's just burn the house down and start a new life...just us girls. Even for B to be like what about dad...I for real lol'd. Ok, I have not seen the trilogy, so I am very excited to watch the second and thrid films. I hope they are as good. If it is a Blair Witch situation I wlll sooooo bummed. There were parts of this movie that had just the right amount of tension and weird to it without being like damnnn ok move on with the scene already. This was a super easy movie to watch. I don't think the pace was slow at all and there was enough action and humor to make it a super fun horror film. I can def see why this is a cult film and it has a good reason to be. There are a lot of brilliant parts of this movie and is not talked about enough. Maybe it should stay that way...or maybe it's been talked about a ton, and I am deaf hahahaha. Sad ending though. Just to have your sister die in your arms and not even in her recognizable form. That's a rough one. I am interested to see if the story continues with B in the sequels. I haven't read anything about them on purpose because I want to go in blind!
Shudder rating: 5 out of 5 skulls! Expected and deserved!
