Hellraiser

Well, this is the last post for 2024. I'm currently watching the 2024 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards as I write this little bit up about such a great movie and great book. I watched and rewatched over 100 horror movies this year and it's been a blast! I actually want to double that next year. I mean...I work completely from home and my next apartment will have my big TV in the same room as my work desk so yeah. I can def multi-task on slower days. This movie had so many unique and original aspects for its time. The cenobites alone were such a cool concept! I really love the idea of how they were originally humans then turned into their perverted and sadistic "monstrous" personalities. Then the fact that they don't feel pain at all in their new form is too bad for those little freaks. On top of that, they live in a completely different realm that can be opened once the Lament Configuration has been solved. That's such a novel concept! Then!! The weird freakin dude who is stalking the whole situation with Frank's family and the LC turns into a dragon to take the LC back hahaha that part was actually pretty funny. Like what? I love the whole crazy horndog devotion Julia has for Frank only to be offed in a totally different way in the end. Like was she the surprised?? Dude was a literally scumbag! The special effects of this movie for the 80s was awesome and had such original characters. It's totally understandable for this film to be one of the best horror films to exist today.

Shudder rating: 5 out of 5 skulls (I would have been shocked if it wasn't)

My rating: 5 out of 5 skulls (such a good film and I really can't think of anything negative about it!)
