It's been a while since I've seen this movie! Picked this old treasure from the Goodwill DVD section and popped this bad boy in the DVD player. I'm trying to build up my tangible horror collection and I've found so many good finds at thrift stores. Back to the movie though. I love this movie! The scene where the nanny hangs herself at Damian's bday bash...yikes. So memorable though. That dog said "girl, get to swinging" and man she really did. I think everyone is asking the same thing though...why didn't the guy warning Gregory Peck just move like a foot to the left, right, front, or back to avoid being speared to death???? Because it's a damn movie. That's why. This movie did such a great job for its time being a legit creepy movie. The new "caretaker" lady also did such a great job at being sinister. Some people are just so good at playing that part and her performance was excellent. Another thing I really liked about this movie was that it really set it up for a sequel (which I haven't seen any of!) I also wonder how many parents were freaked out by their children after watching this movie. How many of them were looking for the 666 under their hair at night in a weird and obvious way. Like I really don't know how that kid didn't wake up (oh right it's a movie...), but damn that caretaker jumped out of her room hella quick trying to tackle Peck to the ground. This movie was definitely built on the whole idea of protecting the little prince of darkness at all costs. Our sweet little antichrist has more adventure ahead of him!

My rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars! A single .1 difference due to not being a familiar favorite, but def appreciate the movie and might be a comfort horror show in the future now that I own it.
