All Hallows' Eve

Ok, I actually like the absolutely psycho character of Art the Clown, butttttt I like the Terrifier movies better. This was decent premier for him and was an okay anthology sort of movie. I say okay because I found that the alien scene in the middle was so unnecessary...the whole thing should have been Satanic/serial killer the whole time. The sci-fi twist was just sort of confusing and made it a bit hokey. As I said though, this was a good introduction to the character. The fact this this was tame for him is saying something. I mean he did cut off all of those girl's limbs and carve "pig", "slut" and other things in her at the end of the movie. Man, that is nowhere near what he does later on in the series. I like how they brought in that whole Satanic cult that he kidnapped that girl for because it showed that he wasn't just a human in a clown uniform. Like Pennywise, he (or I think "he"?) is not a human. Pennywise is more of an alien lifeform and Art is more of a demonic force with special powers. They even showed his eyes glowing in one scene. I will give the second story of the anthology some credit. It gave hints how Art was prophesized and drawn just like Sienna's dad had done. I'm not sure if they were trying to give us a hint that the woman's husband was Sienna dad and she was maybe a previous girlfriend? The ending was great. I loved the whole Art being alive behind the TV screen, again, indicating that he is a non-human life form. This babysitter also said she was going to turn the tape off as soon as it was too much for those kids and proceeded to let the scenes play where that lady's arm got cut off. I'm sure that was a huge run on sentence.

Shudder rating: 4 out of 5 skulls. I'm actually surprised the Shudder community didn't give it the full 5 stars...

My rating: 3.5 out of 5 skulls. Just an average movie to me...other movies in the Terrifier series are better. Good intro.
