Insidious

For those of you that know me, you know what I am about to say because I have left you voice messages and have had in person convos with you about how I feel. Why...is...Patrick...Wilson the star of this and his mom is named Lorraine??? I think Wilson does a lot better in the Conjuring movies, but I am just so confused as to why the connection is there. Is it just to drive people like me insane?? No...it was probably just a clever tie in that I am thinking wayyyy too much about. The story itself I think is pretty good. Is it very original? No not really. The whole person becoming a vessel for spirits is not new, but I like that the father (Pat Wilson) also has the ability to astro-project. Also, as much as I like the actress who played the mom in comedy roles, I really don't think horror is her thing. I want to like her so bad...and Pat :( The kids did a pretty good job I think. I mean Dalton was in a coma for a good chunk of the movie but still lol. Another good element I liked in the movie was that when Pat when into the "Further" he encountered all these spirits that were just hanging out. It rose the creep factor in that it sort of made you think/feel like "damn...what's around me right now as I am watching this movie." The medium lady and her crew made the movie as well. You gotta have that banter and some comic relief sometimes. Although the whole gas mask to relay messages to the person right next to her was a bit much but hey. The besttttt part of this movie was the ending though. No one expected our little Pat to strangle that poor old lady! Demons really do be just jumping into any body they can apparently. Be careful out there. 

Rotten Tomatoes rating: I couldn't find the star rating and didn't care to look that much. It got a 66%

My rating: 3.8 out of 5 stars. Lots of good elements, but just not my favorite movie. Will watch if it's on though!
