The story is so much better than what was executed hahaha, however, they did a decent job with the costumes! They did a lot of goo and texture work that made the creatures look moist at allll times. I really love the whole premise of these creatures getting to be ginormous because they were eating the salmon that were eating the tadpoles that had DNA5. DNA5 was like an enzyme or something that accelerated growth at a rapid rate or something like that? SO COOL THAT THE CREATURES ARE BASED OFF OF COELACANTHS. They are a super ancient fish and it's cool to see references of it in movies (which hardly ever happens). Ok, the absolute coolest thing about these fish is that they were thought to be extinct for a super long time and then someone found one at a street vender getting sold (I think). They are currently extant! About the movie...ummm pretty hockey. Cool creatures like I said. Lots of boobies. Lots of horndogs and fights. Loveeee the ending though. Very Alien how that creature came out of her womb like that. It's like I sort of saw it coming when they ended with a hospital scene, but then I was like nooooo they aren't going to go there. Then they did! Oh gosh, I forgot that these super evolved coelacanth creatures were raping the women up until that scene replayed in my head. So...not a bad movie! Idk if I would necessarily watch it again by myself, but I could see this movie being fun to watch with someone who likes creature features! I did watch this as a Joe Bob special so that was kind of fun to hear some of his commentary throughout the movie. I really hope he's not canceled (or he already is and I'm referencing him lollll).
