I actually really like this movie for being a total cheesy 80's horror flick. Sometimes the 80s movies get a little toooo cheesy, but I love the balance that this movie has of the cheese, special effects, and a fun plot. Ok, let's get to it. We have our main character Herbert West who is a crazy scientist folk who has discovered a serum that makes people come back from the dead. He transfers from Switzerland to the US for med school and meets Dan who is also a fellow resident. Dan is dating the head med dude's daughter so...there's that. Herbert moves into the basement of Dan's house and immediately killed his cat to see if he could bring it back to life with serum lolllll like he did not even wait. When Dan tells his gf's dad, her dad expels Herbert and takes away Dan's scholarship. Herbert sneaks back into the morgue because he CANNOT stay away. Well, a dead dude gets up and kills Dan's gf's dad when he goes to investigate. They have no choice but to bring him back with the serum, I guess! That leads to the dad being put under Dr. Hill's care and Dr. Hill finding out that he is actually a walking dead corpse forcing Herbert to forfeit his research so Dr. Hill can take all of the credit. That doesn't fly with little Herb so he kills Hill but thennnnnn Hill knocks Herb out and goes to Dan's gf's dad (yes, I will call him that for the entirety of the post) so he can control him as a lobotomized patient and be ultra creepy with his daughter. Luckily, Dan's gf's dad recognizes the voice of his own daughter and turns on Hill killing him via head squish. Unfortunately, she is killed by a re-animated figure and Dan cannot save her hence...he used the serum. Dun DUN DUNNNNNN!!!!!
