Pumpkinhead

I think it is hilarious that the legs of Pumpkinhead were meant to be xenomorph legs, but something was funky with them, so they used them in this film lolll. I actually really like this movie. I think it is just the right amount of cozy with that 80's semi cheesy gore. I think they did a great job with the special effects for what they had in the 80s! Like Pumpkinhead is pretty impressive and legit a little scary. They really need to make him part of some amusement park ride because that shit would be terrifying. I also can't believe this movie is based on a poem?? The story itself is actually sort of simple. We follow this man who was freaking traumatized as a child by being scared of Pumpkinhead (I don't think he knows what it is quite yet) who is chasing down some marked people in this remote farm area. Fast forward to when he is a dad with a son of his own. He is still rockin' that farm life and some dirt bike city slickers go crazy with their bikes and accidently run his son over. It is a little confusing because the kid was still moving a bit but apparently, he died. Oh and this dad is pissssssed. He finds a witch in the woods and asks for Pumpkinhead to be summoned. Little does he know that Pumpkinhead is freaking nuts and will kill not just the one kid responsible, but a whole lot of them! We also find out that there is a psychic connection between them once he was summoned so he feels and experiences everything Pumpkinhead does. This leads him to eventually shoot himself in the head in attempt to kill the rampant demon, but that fails. He is eventually shot by the girlfriend of the one who killed his son and that does the trick, I guess. I do like the very end where we see the witch burying a corpse and see that it is the dad. He is now the new vessel for Pumpkinhead when he is summoned again....mwahahaHAHAHA.
