Ughhhh Mia Goth is perfect in so many ways (if my keyboard had the moan emoji, I would have put three there). I liked this movie a lot better the second time I watched it! I think the first time I was so caught up in trying to understand the relationship between Maxine and Pearl that I lost some of the plot. How did I also forget Kid Cudi was in here! What a hottie as well. This movie definitely checked a lot of boxes for me. First off, old people scare me, and this brought out the phobia (and well deserved!). Second, I love movies with a factor of isolation. Third, movies like this are memorable because of the unhinged acting (which Mia Goth does great at!). Her role as Pearl in both this movie and Pearl are delivered so well. I am a big fan of both movies! I will rate Pearl later. I believe Maxxxine is coming out soon too which I cannot wait to see! I think I'll push myself to go to the theater solo again to work on my social anxiety. So my theory of the whole Pearl/Maxine relationship is that Pearl is so obsessed with regretting the life she never had that she is literally seeing herself in Maxine (which is why Mia Goth is playing both parts). Like she is unstable enough where would it really be that weird if she completely projected herself onto a human being on a tangible-level? No, that would be expected of her lol. Maybe this is what is going on, but I don't know. I need to do some research, but for now. Bedtime.
