Stop Motion
Ah...a classic tale of an unhinged artsy girl constantly bordering psychosis due to her severe mommy issues. I GET it girl. We all need to lose ourselves in something and I'm glad you found an outlet!...that you don't necessarily want and was forced into by...your mother. But hey, it's still art right? This movie has such a cool concept! I really enjoyed the stop motion elements and they did a pretty good job and making the figures look unsettling. I have been wanting to watch this on Shudder ever since I saw it new added and was glad I got around to finally watching it! This movie leaves a lot to interpretation (which can be fun for a movie because people can have different experiences with the it). I read a couple of people's reviews out of curiosity and the one thing we can all agree on is that Ella is crazy resentful of her mother being such an overbearing force in her life. I mean...that was pretty bitchy of her to not cut up her mom's food when she clearly struggles with her mobility. She sort of got her message across at least a little when she did that. I also found this movie really cool because animation is something I really wish I went into. Don't get me wrong, I love the science field, but it is very dry and doing something (especially with claymation) would be a dream come trueeeee. This movie is definitely worth checking out and I think it was pretty unique!
