Terrifier 3

They straight up started off with child murder lol noooooooo. It's also hilarious that my friend and I managed to choose a theater that serves food. We ordered a pizza while the people behind us left hahaha. Where to start with this movie. As someone who has read a decent amount of splatterpunk novels, I see the depravity as just a goal to top each time. That they did...that they did. I have to admit that the special effects are pretty neat. There wasn't a scene where it was clearly CGI which I imagine is hard to with such an explicit/graphic movie. I also liked that they showed more of the demon side of Art in this movie. Like Pennywise, Art is not just a clown. Art is a demonic entity and is able to manipulate a previous victim of his as puppet using his dark powers. If I am remembering correctly, Art wants Sienna's body to use as a host as well (maybe they are setting it up for Art to have an army of hosts in the future?) Sienna is the chosen one though and has some sort of power over Art. I'm still trying to understand the relationship between the lore, Sienna's dad's art, and Art the clown. Like they are clearly all tied together in more than just the obvious ways. I'll have to do a deeper dive into that. Maybe I will have a terrifier movie marathon and just research down rabbit holes. Overall, this movie was your typical way too graphic, but sort of creative mock 80s slasher filled with all types of squelching and fluids. The warning signs plastered all over the theater says it all.

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars (not a movie I would choose to typically throw on the TV, but it's good for what it's supposed to be)
