Cannibal Holocaust

This will be the only time I ever mention this movie and the only horror movie that I've given a 0 rating so far. If they would have not been so literal with the scenes this movie could have actually had potential for its plot. The plot itself is actually kind of unique in the horror space, but alas, this movie is known for legit cruelty. This is my least favorite horror movie for the sole reason of the animal mutilation scenes being real. I had a super hard time with this movie for that reason and all the rape scenes. This is such a brutal movie, folks. This is like some of the splatterpunk I've read coming to life onto screen (there is a reason that is in books and not visualized). Granted, one could argue that movies like Terrifier are worst as far as gore content, but they were not real! Even the tribes in the movies were real locals of that area! This movie is banned in a number of countries, and I was actually surprised that it was on Shudder, let alone a freaking Last Drive-In feature! Honestly, that was the only way I could watch. Darcy was making vegan meats the whole time then freaking Joe Bob made turtle stew (for those who have seen the movie you know exactly the scene I'm talking about). I will say the only thing I liked about the movie (like is even a far stretch) is that they really made the 4 white people the antagonists and the truly barbaric party in the movie. They were painted as heroes of sorts in the beginning, but then they are exposed after finding the fucked up footage. I can't describe the footage as anything else. I'll admit I had never seen this movie before, and I will never watch it again. Even when I meet my wife and she asks me to show her the most messed up horror movie I've ever seen, I'm going to spare the both of us! I highly doubt my future wife with make that request from me, but you never know! I really don't know what else to say about this movie other than I'm glad the producer got arrested and this film was confiscated. It really is a disgusting film, and I hope no other horror movie comes close to mimicking how this movie was made.

Shudder rating: 3 out of 5 skulls (lots of 1 skulls, but you know, you have the bros who have to prove that this is "art" and not a piece of shit film).

My rating: 0 out of 5 skulls (-10000000000000000 skulls)
