This movie starts out so strong and looks so promising! I'm not a hater though. A lot of people say this movie is so slow and not scary at all (and they aren't wrong), but it's a King movie...they are a bit aged. I've read a number of King books, but I don't think I've actually read this one! I feel like this one was probably a lot more vivid in the novel. The movie legit starts off with all of the adults (well mostly all) getting murdered by these psycho kids. Not all the kids are psycho though. Some of them see that there is cult activity, and they should probbbbb not be involved. Isaac and his freaking little hat. If I saw that little kid while walking down the road, I guess I would assume he is a cult leader of children who are ultimately followers of some demonic presence in a corn field? People were prob disappointed with the movie as a whole because for such a strong start to a movie, it really did die down fairly quickly and then proceeded to have virtually no climax (that's what she said...hopefully not). If we had to pinpoint the climax of the movie it would be Isaac getting blasted off on the cross by the corn presence and then still being "alive" but confusingly aged and possessed. I was a bit confused as to what was happening tbh. The 80s graphics of the corn presence slowly crawling up Isaac was a bit distracting then BOOM dude was so high in the air lollll. I feel like I say this with so many movies, but there are so many elements in such little time! If they would have cut the dumb scenes with "lovers" (you know that dude is just looking for an excuse to break up with her) and spent a bit more time on the child cult/corn demon, my questions would have prob been answered! I've also seen the remake of this film (not reviewed yet) and that didn't really answer my questions either. HOWEVER, I have not seen any of the sequels to this movie and I heard they really aren't bad! I was rolling watching another review about this movie when the guy was explaining Sarah's "sight" being literally 30 seconds before something happens and is totally useless hahahaha they ain't wrong, I guess. Also...the ending?? Bert (I think that's his name) just slams the door at the kid's face then just hobbles away with his new little corn demon family?? Lame.

My rating: 3.7 out of 5 skulls (slow.... but creepy and a classic. Not riveting enough to really want to watch it over and over)
