The Conjuring: Last Rites
Saw this movie in the theater just a few days ago and, man, it was better than I expected. The third Conjuring movie wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, so I didn't keep my hopes up. I really liked this sequel though. We go back in time where Lorraine is pregnant, and she makes contact with a cursed mirror causing the demon residing in it to want her child. She is lucky enough to have her child brought back from what seemed like a still-born death, howeverrrrr, she doesn't know that the demon will STILL want her little Judy mwahahaha. The film fast forwards to when Judy is grown and Ed/Lorraine are old looking (well...sort of). We are also introduced to a family that has brought in the mirror as a gift (all these creepy things are just random gifts to other I suppose) and then a whole lot of weird stuff happens. Eventually the priest who has helped with the other Warren cases comes in to help this family out and then Judy comes to his aid (post-death) when she starts having visions. Unfortunately, Father whatever-his-name-is is pretty much summoned to hang himself and Judy is just alone with the cursed family. Ed/Lorraine eventually go to the family to get their daughter, but Judy is like "HELLO YOU GUYS DEAL WITH THE PARANORMAL??" They were like "ugh, you are right ok, one more time..." They go into mortal combat with this huge ass mirror and the ultimate thing that brings this monstrosity down is both Lorraine/Judy touching it (she has the sight too) and them denying the demon's existence. I don't even want to go into Judy's fiancé's role because he didn't add to the story that much expect he was shredded by the mirror and survived. Welcome to the family! This was a good ending the movie franchise. Now, will there be a TV show?...??? Hmm???????
IMDb rating: 6.5 out of 10 stars (that was lower than I expected!)
My rating: 8.7 out of 10 stars!
