Basket Case

Man, I kinda fell off the wagon on horror movies the last couple weeks. It's been super social and then I had to travel back to AZ (not that anyone reads this lol). I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and honestly, I freaking love this movie. It was giving the same sort of campy humor and shock factor as Sleepaway Camp. The movie revolves around a guy who carries this basket with him in NYC, and we don't know what is in there until it is revealed that it is the guy's Siamese brother. They used to be attached until the brother was cut off. Wayne (the most intact of the twins and the only one who looks human) feels bad for his deformed half so he takes him with him and takes care of him. They also share like this telepathic connection where Wayne can sense where his twin is and the twin can see and feel (?) what Wayne is doing. The weirdest part about this movie was the deformed twin pretty much raping the love interest of Dwyane's. Like I don't think the deformed twin has the parts, but he was sort of imitating what his brother does and trying to satisfy his own biological urges. That scene will forever live rent free in my head. Throughout the movie, the deformed twin is constantly getting out of the basket and causing trouble and I'm trying to remember some of the main events since this review is a bit late. I love the fact that Wayne was just running nude through downtown NYC at night. There were a couple murders that happened with like the doctor and the doctor's assistant, I think? The ending was super poetic where both of the twins fall out of the window. The deformed one is holding onto Wayne by the neck, and he chokes to death in the air (the deformed twin is holding a sign hanging off a building). They both eventually fall and the end makes it seem like they both die right next to each other but there is a sequel to this movie I think so....not sure what to think hahaha.

My rating: Honestly...4.8 out of 5 skulls. The character acting is so good!
