Tusk

I love that I showed this movie to my best friend when she was already overstimulated hahaha I think she liked it? I don't know how I didn't realize that this is a Kevin Smith film which makes so much sense after watching it a couple times. Justin Long really has a knack for playing this exact douchey character. He went from such a golden retriever in Dodgeball to this guy...the pipeline is real though. Alright, the whole premise of this movie is that Justin and the dude from the Sixth Sense have a podcast where Justin will describe something he hasn't seen before and he pretty much tries to come across odd people with odd lives. While attending the funeral of tone of the guys he was describing (he committed suicide) he finds a flyer of this guy who is literally advertising that he is an interesting guy with interesting stories lol. Fast forward, he goes and sees the old dude, Howard, and he shares that he was stranded and had to resort to killing then eating a walrus. So yeah, dude has walrus problems. He has walrus problems so bad that he drugs Justin Long and turns him into a walrus. Like literally mutilates him and turns his entire body into the shape of a walrus and gives the dude tusks. This goes on for a bit until Howard himself puts on a walrus costume and Justin Long (in full walrus rage) ends up killing Howard with his tusks. The end the movie is pretty dumb, however, funny. Justin Long ends up in like this small exotic animal facility where he is put on display in the back. He basically hides in his little house until it is feeding time where he pitifully comes out when his ex-gf/best friend (who were having an affair) throw him a fish. Yeah, that is just his life now. I do like that this movie is not gory way in the slightest. It just looks rough, but there are not scenes where you see Howard butchering Justin Long. I think the humor is nice in the movie, but I don't really like Kevin Smith humor that much and some of the scenes just went on and on. Still a pretty iconic movie! Pretty original and fun to show my little baby after she had an edible hehe.

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 2 out of 5 stars (kind surprised it is that low?)

My rating: 3.8 out of 5 stars (as I said, it was pretty original and I respect the weirdness!)
